An antenna that can change its shape based on its temperature.
What started in the medical device industry has progressed to an antenna that changes it shape, and therefore workable band, through temperature changes.
Nitinol is used to 3D print the antenna which will change from a flat disc when cooled to a spiral horn when heated.
APL is working to use the technology to create a phased-array, among other possibilities.
Far from amatuer use, still an interesting concept.
