Biography

Thank you for visiting my page, hope all is well around the world!

I am 2nd generation from Italy. I've enjoyed spending a few years building a family tree on Ancestry.com. I've traced family back to the 1700s in Italy. My maternal grandmother is from Rivergaro, Province of Piacenza. My paternal grandmother is from Castagnola, Ferriere Province of Piacenza. My paternal great grandfather is from Cattaragna, Ferriere Province of Piacenza. My maternal grandfather is Irish, I am 5th generation from Ireland. I enjoy exploring my ethnicity, ancestry, heritage, the customs of those lands, and hopefully someday I'll learn the language.

I've been an amateur radio operator since 2018. I enjoy SSB, FT8, FT4, RTTY, I do a little AM with very close stations, & recently I've started enjoying 10-meter FM repeater operation. My other hobbies are shooting, Cooking, BBQ, Grilling, "Smoking Foods", Biking, Hiking, Fishing, Kayaking, in the park concerts, a good bonfire, campfires & cocktails with good friends.

Most days you can find me monitoring KQ2H repeater system in New York. It has 17+ repeaters & receivers linked together. This system covers an estimated 20,000 sq. mi of Southeastern New York, Northern New Jersey, Western Connecticut, Western Massachusetts, Southwestern Vermont, & Eastern Pennsylvania. Included in this repeater system is a 10-meter repeater located in the southern Catskill Mountains, 29.620 out, 29.520 in, PL 146.2. There are receivers in the voting system for 10m coverage, only one does not require a PL tone. You can find these repeaters & more at New York Repeater Directory, http://www.nyrepeaters.com/
