I take my radio gear to our land in Gold Beach Oregon to try working repeaters up along the Oregon coast. The repeaters are listed in a coastal tourist guide.

I make a couple of contacts. But on many of the repeaters I don't get any answer from other hams. Many repeaters had a good signal, but no one seemed to be around. This is not uncommon when calling on a repeater.

I used my Elk dual band antenna, and my FT-857 running 50 watts.

The Heil PR22 and the wind screen worked great in this windy location.
