Biography

First licensed in 1967 as VK4ZDC, upgraded in 1976 to VK4ADC. Occasional operator on 6 metres SSB/CW and infrequently on HF. Mainly active from '67 until '92 then started again in late 1999. I try to operate during most VK VHF/UHF Field Days plus some international contests as time permits.
Also hold USA Extra Class call KX4SX (from late-2019).
My web site provides info on my many homebrew projects, past and current, including antennas and equipment at HF, VHF, UHF and microwave.

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

Icom IC-7400 for HF, 6M & 2M, coupled to Wilson System 2 triband yagi for 10/15/20M, 2el homebrew yagi for 17 and 12M plus full size multiple dipole arrays for 160M through 30M, 6 element yagi for 6M, plus larger yagis for 2M, 70CM and 23CM. Add microwave grid-packs, HF verticals and wire antennas to complete the antenna arrays.

The field day/portable equipment : Usually an IC-7000 plus IC-706MK2G for HF/6M/2M/70CM plus homebrew gear for microwave : 1296, 2403, 3400, 5760 and 10368. Antennas : various yagis plus gridpacks etc.
Operate FT8 and SSB on HF occasionally when portable in the caravan, mainly 40M, 30M and 20M and only other bands when activity is high.
