Biography

Hi, my name is Vladimir (Vlad).

I have been interested in electronics since I was a kid and first contact with the radio was on CB, in pre-cellphone era (as many of us hams).
I got my novice license in 2013 and got call sign OM1ALV. Later I upgraded my license and shortened my call to OM1AL.

I was born in Slovakia, central Europe and currently I live in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and got my Canadian call sign VA7VLD.

I'm mostly active on portable (SOTA) on VHF and QRP HF but also have home QTH setup with 100W HF to the EFHW antenna and VHF/UHF as well.

I'm interested mostly in voice comms (terrestrial and amsats) and slooowly learning CW.
