Biography

Hi, my name is Vladimir (Vlad).

I have been interested in electronics since I was a kid and first contact with the radio was on CB, in pre-cellphone era (as many of us hams).
I got my novice license in 2013 and got call sign OM1ALV. Later I upgraded my license and shortened it to OM1AL.

Currently I live in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where I've got my Canadian callsign - VA7VLD.

I'm active mostly as portable (SOTA) on VHF and QRP HF but also have home QTH setup with 100W HF to the EFHW antenna, VHF/UHF as well.

So far, I'm doing only voice comms and slooowly learning CW.
