Biography

Radio operator from Lappeenranta -city, in KP41DB. and a member of the Finnish Radio Amateur League (SRAL). You can find me on the bands with my old call, OH5KUY time to time, too.

Most time active on digimodes and CW. I like working qrp from my home station in Lappeenranta (MUSTOLA) and sometimes from my mobile. FT-818 (5 Watts) and R8-vertical with T2FD dipole are good weapons for dx-hunting on qrp. My latest purchase Kenwood TS-480SAT give me some QRO if necessary.

My main station is at Enonkoski, KP42JE, just 40 km north of Savonlinna -city: in the middle of nothing, next to the Kolovesi National Park. There is a lot of free space for setting up antennas and towers. At the moment I have a tower (30 m high) with KT-34XA beam for HF and smaller antennas for VHF/UHF-bands there. An other tower with satellite gear is ready for "birds". Other antennas are dipoles and G5RV and WiMO WARC vertical with R-8 vertical. On VHF I am mainly active on APRS-network. The rigs in use there are Kenwood TM-D700 for VHF/UHF and Kenwood TS-480SAT / FT-818  for HF bands. For 6 meters and satellites I have FT-874: vertical antenna and OscarPack, Cross-Yagis for 2 mtrs/70 cm with Az/Ez rotator.

My QSL-policy: cards are available via buro or direct if needed. I like using LoTW ,SWL-cards are mostly welcome.

Time to time I spend time with contests, but most time I like working with everyone who are active on my "waterfall" hi...

My EPC#2514 FL01; OMC#103 DMC# 743, Feld Hell -club FH 1700 and 30MDG#0671 (club activity) My home club id OH5AB, (OH5B) here in Lappeenranta.

My nick on bands is simply ARI. 73 CU!
