25 Years ago myself and Harry GI0JHR now {SK} spoke about forming a club in the locality we sent letters out and spread the word but our enthusiasm was nt rewarded and no one turned up.So we gave the idea up as a bad job but hoped someday it would happen.Time passed but the idea was always there.Then in 2015 we were to bear the loss of Harry who was taken a young man in his early 60`s the bands were never to be the same.As with everything life goes on but around the area there was a move on more operators coming on air with new ideas and all very keen .Several months passed and oneday I asked Andy 210HGI who had returned to the airwaves after a time out what about forming a club I was hopefull as being dissapointed before.We opened a facebook page under the name of the Sperrin DX Group and seen an interest taking place.A venue time was set .The number attend was low but enough to fill all the positions needed to get the club up and running.We know that there are more that will attend we look forward to getting our call on air on all modes.We meet the last Wednesday of every month except December time 7:15pm @The Hub Burn Road Cookstown.
