Biography

Hi

Thanks for visiting my page.

I am a new Ham operator as of December of 2018. I upgraded my license to General in April 2019 and I am currently studying for my Extra Class license.
I have been involved with electronics and radio communications since I was 14 yrs. old. I was involved with CB radio back in the mid to late 70's and early 80's during the CB craze. I tried learning Morse code but was not able to learn it. The Ham operators I met when I was younger were old men that did not have an interest in teaching/mentoring a young guy. I did find several mentors on CB, that took me under their wings and got me interested in electronics and working DX stations on AM and SSB. Now that my kids are older and I have some free time I decided to get my ticket. I am having fun DXing again!

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

My Current setup:
Yaesu FTdx1200
Ameritron AL-1500
G5RV dipole for 80-20m.
Heathkit SA2060A and 2040 Antenna Tuner
Siro Gain Master Omni (for 10m)
Running WSJT on FT8 using Yaesu SCU-17 interface

DX Code Of Conduct

dx code of conduct small logoI support the "DX Code Of Conduct" to help to work with each other and not each against the others on the bands. Click here and find out more about the project and how you can endorse it.
