Biography

Hello!

I'm Francesco, passionate about electronics, technology, computers, and, of course, radio. I've been on the air since 2002 on the CB band and have been a licensed amateur radio operator since 2024. I'm originally from the island of Ischia but moved to Tuscany for work in 2012.

I primarily use the 2m and 70cm bands, especially on repeaters and Echolink. Soon, I plan to use other HF bands in SSB and perhaps digital.

My small base station consists of a Retevis RT95 dual-band radio with a Diamond X-50N antenna; I often use Baofeng UV-999 Pro Max V2 and Wouxun KG-UV2D portables when out and about.

From my secondary station on the island of Ischia, you can hear me with the call sign IC8/IU5CIJ and I often activate the references: IOTA EU-031, POTA IT-1542, SOTA I/CA-145, WLOTA 0689, ILLW IT0042.
