Biography

Hello everyone.
I have been licensed since 1979 at the age of 17, during my final year of high school.
My restricted license call sign was ZR2CB and in 1983 I passed the Morse test and acquired the call sign, ZS2G.

My current interest in the hobby is HF dx'ing and contesting and I'm looking forward the upcoming sunspot cycle 25.

15m is my favorite band with SSB, CW and will be starting with digital modes soon.

Other hobbies, include mountaineering and I am a member of our local mountain rescue team.

My day job is in Radio Frequency Engineering.

I am a founding member of the ZR2X HF Contest Group, which has been in existence since October 2022.

Equipment

IC 7200 (Home rig)
FT 897D with CW filter (field events)
TS 50S . I used this on several SOTA activations.
Ameritron AL1200 amplifier, which I occasionally use.

Antenna.
2 element homebrew 15m beam at 11m above ground.
Various pieces of wire for the other bands.
