Biography

My hamradio interest started in 1994 and in 1997 became a Class A operator.
Main interest is antenna building, contesting and experimenting with small
interfaces. I have home brew a few projects and enjoy every moment of it.
currently I have small home station (living in a security complex with restrictions)

Presently operate out of Paarl, Western Cape 65km from Cape Town.
My station there is a Icom 706mkIIG and Cushcraft R7 plus L antenna with UNUN.

I am on digital modes FT8 mostly - look out for either ZS6EGB or ZS1XB or 9G5ZS

Equipment

Presently enjoying the latest Icom-7300 with all the nice features, like direct connection to my Laptop. I also own a Icom-706MKIIG and a Yaesu-847.
during my Dxpeditions I mostly used the IC-706 for convenience and transport reasons.
Running only 100W for SSB & CW with 60W on FT8 & RTTY.
My antennas is basically an inverted L EFHW antenna with a second vertical spiral wire 43ft long on a fibreglass pole.
