Hello from Prebbleton (near Christchurch); new QTH effective February 2026.

I was licensed in January 2018, and became active on HF on July 24 2018. My interest in radio dates back to the 1990's as an avid medium wave and shortwave DXer. Life got in the way in pursuing an amateur radio license; so fast forward to 2018.

HF radios are the Yaesu FT-DX10 and Yaesu FT-991A. I enjoy all modes: Voice, SSTV, CW and Digital (FT8 to VarAC).

I am curently using a 8010 EFHW antenna based on the Moonraker 49:1 unun, I am impressed with it's performance. Experimental antennas are a 40/10m fan dipole using a Moonraker 1:1 balun. I also have a DX Commander Signature 9 vertical, yet to be redeployed that I used at my prior QTH.

QSO's are logged to QRZ.com, ClubLog, eQSL, HamQTH and HRDLog.net in real-time, and LoTW. The preferred QSL method is LoTW. I do not use the bureau, or provide cards.

I am on X radio related only @ZL3GAV.
