| Biography My current HF set up:
Last storm broke the wire antenna on the roof of my solitaire where I live. I plan to install at least one vertical antenna for 20, 15 and 10 meter bands in the coming period.
For now, I'm using my vintage Kenwood, TS-120V with 10 W of power and also I use a small transistor liner for the HF area, also from China, of 100W. If necessary, I also use a QRO linear with 2 X 813 which gives 800 W of power on CW and SSB.
Since I live in a solitaire, the position for installing the antenna is at the level of the 15th floor, i.e. at a height of about 50 meters from the ground. The position is excellent and all the antennas I used before on the HF bands worked UFB! Even on ordinary wire antennas and power of only 100 W I have made very rare lands (doing all these QSO PILE-UP was big !!). However, if I cannot call the desired DX station with 100W power, then I turn on QRO and power up to 800W. Of course, since I prefer working with CW, then all this was, in a way, easier for me to perform!
As I already mentioned, for work on HF I use my good old Kenwood, TS-120V (10W).
My workstation for 144 MHz is old and good analog and digital VHF transceivers from Japan, FDK Multi-2700 (all mode and 10W) and transistor linear , abt.80W.
Also on 144 MHz I am using Yaesu, FT-290R (CW, SSB) with smol VHF linear amplifier. On FM I use Yaesu, FTL-2011. My Yagi antenna from 7 el. with a rotator, it is located on the roof of the solitaire and at a height of about 50 meters from the ground. For operation in simplex and via repeater, in addition to this Yagi antenna, I also use a J antenna for 144 MHz.
Sometimes when I'm out in nature, I'm very happy to bring my good old VHF device for 144 MHz, Yaesu ft-290R, 2,5 W pow., as well as a handheld Chinese FM device, Baofeng of 5 W.
