Biography

Hey everyone, 73 from Serbia!

My name is Filip, I am a 22-year-old ham and mechatronics student. I got bit by the radio bug all on my own, starting out as a shortwave listenter with the callsign YU1001SWL. It was a blast hearing from stations all over the world, and it really solidified my love for this hobby.

I am a proud member of Radio Club "Elektron" (YU1AFV) from Å abac, Serbia. I'm lucky to have some great OPs at the club who taught me many skills, from using the equipment to DXing and contesting.

Due to school and studying, I haven't been able to participate in many contests and activations, but I loved and would love to participate in CQWW, CQ WPX, POTA, as well as other local contests.

I am working hard on learning CW. I think it's a fantastic mode, that can be heard further than SSB with same power - that's why I am very interested in using it in POTA setting.

Since I am a broke university student, I mostly use Chinese radios for personal use, such as Tidradio H3 (and Baofeng UV-5R as backup) for local communication. I also have Retevis RT-3S with OpenGD77 firmware, which makes it a powerful device for DMR operation.

For HF operations, I mostly use club equipment or from a club member, but I hope I will be able to possess my own in future.

Thank you for stopping by my page! If we've had a QSO, please send over an (e)QSL and don't forget to log it.

Catch you on the air!

DX Code Of Conduct

dx code of conduct small logoI support the "DX Code Of Conduct" to help to work with each other and not each against the others on the bands.
