Biography
My equipment has been changed over the years and upgraded constantly whenever i had some little time to spend in shack. This is a wonderful hobby with multilateral development from sciences (math, physics, geografy, foreign languages) to great practicing DIY of rigs and antennas,ATU-s or combination of equipments.
I started with the well known homebuilt widespread in YO from 1980 to 90's ,rig A 412 ( a version of ATLAS rig) and after 1990, TS 515 + PS 515 and a great Delta loop antenna of 83 meters in a big yard and an japanese antenna EL 40X with balun BL 40X for 80/40M.For VHF i just bought immediately Kenwood TH K2AT and as a VHF/UHF locally a superb ,solid rugged STANDARD C 528 for 7W out and a 2 elem HB9CV very effective on all repeaters.
Antennas are mainly home built antennas in HF,delta lops, dipoles tuned sometime with an MFJ 949E,and lately the installed EL 40X then FB 23 to be upgraded to FB 33 rotated with and Yaesu G 450A and also a vertical HYGAIN 14 AVQ and a 10 BBV 8 bands. In 2 m an Diamond X 510,X 300 and a 5 elem Yagi Eco antenne 500W for CW/SSB/FM.For portable operations I also have an mag mounted antenna 2M/70CM bought from Texas,US in Radioshack shop.Reliable and rugged construction and used while going in EU-Friedrichshafen hamvention several times.
Times are changing and upgrading is on plan to bring the new technology (with color TV screens)on the table and DSP and remote operations. But ,I must find the proper time for that and I hope that at retirement time I will be prepared for that and the propagation will be there.Travelling around the world with the job in oil and gas business gave me great opportunities to see places, meet peoples and operate some places with pleasure.
World hamradio family is superb and desert to be presented and mentioned in mass media at any time.
Till then, good DX to everybody and enjoy that wonderful sport/hobby!
