Biography

Hello and thanks for stopping by!

I was a novice in the late 60's as WN6GCT. I fell out of radio and spent most of the next 45 years flying airplanes. I flew for American Airlines until I retired in December 2019. I got back into radio in 2018. A Yaesu FTdx101D and an ICOM 7610 take care of HF, both of which go into a Palstar HF-Auto tuner and a Palstar LA-1K amplifier. I have an ICOM 9700 and a Yaesu FTM400 for VHF-UHF along with too many HTs to count. Antennas are a Buckmaster OCF 7 band which I use from 6m thru 80m and a 256 foot end fed with a 9 to 1 unun for 160m (works well on 80m too). A Comet GP 98 takes care of the VHF-UHF side.

I recently started using a ClearNode which makes using multiple digital modes rather easy.

These days I am flying out of KSZP (Santa Paula) airport here in California. I also hold CFI CFII MEI (flight instructor) ratings.
