Biography

SWL since the 1960s, retired in 2021 (at age 70) from a 40+ year career in healthcare facilities construction and management, now have lots more time to revive interest and invest time in SWLing! The pix above is of one of the radios my Dad got me as a youngster, I was very fortunate. I still have it and it still works! He also got me a Hallicrafters S-120 and let me put a long wire antenna in the front yard. I did most of my DXing and got most of my QSLs using that rig. I have an amazing collection of QSLs and “stuff” from many communist countries issued during the Cold War. I have begun chasing QSL cards again, while an E QSL is nice, nothing beats finding a “real” QSL in the mailbox!

Equipment

RSP1a SDR
Eton Elite 750
75 foot outdoor wire

Also occasionally use a Sangean ATS-909X

DX Code Of Conduct

dx code of conduct small logoI support the "DX Code Of Conduct" to help to work with each other and not each against the others on the bands.
