Biography

Ryan – WG4I (originally KK4OSG), currently lives in Cumming, GA with his wife and 2 kids. Been in the IT field for 25+ years and with Travelers Co. for the last 10 years troubleshooting Windows and Unix server/ networking issues.
Ryan first earned his Technician license in 2012 and within a month updated to General. In 2016 upgraded to amateur extra and obtained his current call sign of WG4I. He won the June VHF contest in the FM category for the entire US in 2015, 2016, and 2017. Also, very active in the Summits On The Air program and is currently a “Mountain Goat” with over 1000 points. Has activated 159 summits, most of them in Georgia. Also activated an Island off the coast of Georgia for US Islands On The Air. Participated in several combined SOTA and NPOTA events in 2016 where pileups were common all while sitting on the ground on a summit!
Ryan is the assistant EC for the county’s ARES group and Vice-President of the local amateur radio club. Designs and builds most of his antennas, gives presentations, and classes on ham related subjects on a regular basis.
