Biography

Having fun with SOTA, QRP, DX chasing, Winter Field Day, NPOTA. Enjoy backpacking and sleeping bag portable.

For NPOTA, I used the Yaesu FT-857D with Tarheel LT 2 while mobile, and an end fed wire and fish pole while portable.

For SOTA, I use the KX3, end fed wire and fishpole, or dipole, depending on available trees, weight and time.

At home, it is the IC-7300 with OCF and fan dipoles. Now experimenting with a 160/80 Inverted L with elevated radials, and 160 dipole at 61'.

Portable use is usually link dipoles, and now a coil loaded 160 dipole.

Experimenting with NVIS antennas and EFHW 49:1 134' antennas.

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

Elecraft KX-3
Yaesu FT-857D
Icom IC-7300
OCF Dipoles
Testing 160/80 Inverted L
End fed wires
36' fishing pole
Tarheel LT-2 mobile HF ant.
