| Biography I have been a ham since 1971. Originally licensed as WN2AEY at the age of 11! Call changed to WA2AEY in 1973 when I upgraded. For most of my time as a ham I have been primarily a CW operator, but I enjoy SSB and occasionally FM. (I have no interest at all in any digital modes at this time.) I love CW, especially on VHF via Auroral propagation. I operate on all bands from 80 meters through 2 meters. I especially enjoy 6 meters (50 MHZ). I am at 550+ grids on 6 and 173+ grids on 2 (144 MHZ). I enjoy working contacts off sporadic E, Aurora, Meter scatter and tropospheric ducting on these bands. Working 2 meter sporadic E can be as exciting as working the rarest DX on HF! I also enjoy working DX on HF but especially enjoy a nice long conversation with people from distant and diverse cultures. This hobby has given me a great deal of enjoyment over the years, and I look forward to the peak of this solar cycle in the coming year. I will always respond to a QSL card request and am happy to provide postage to others that I request cards from. If you are in the USA and need a card ,please send me a SASE with your QSL! Outside of the US send $2 US and SAE please. Postage can get quite expensive these days. Please be considerate! I am awaiting the return of F2 propagation on 50 MHZ, and cant wait to experience the excitement of working DX worldwide again on this band. I do NOT use LOTW or Eqsl. If you want a confirmation from me , a QSL direct or via the W2 bureau is the way to go. Be aware that getting cards through the bureau is an especially slow process and can take a year or more!
