Biography

Greetings: Main interest is 2 and 6m weak signal operations. Enjoy contest operating mainly in VHF events. Kw on 2-6 and HF. M2-18xxx @ 65 feet for 2m, M2-9KHW @ 50 feet for 6m, 4 x M2-9SSB @ 15 feet for 2m EME, Cushcraft A3 @ 45 feet for HF, dipoles for 160, 80 and 40 @ 40 feet. 2-440 Vert. @ 60 feet. In August 2013 will begin building a 4 antenna array for 6m EME. Received 2m WAS # 172 in 2013. Last state was Hawaii via EME. I have a 6m beacon on 50.063MHz at EN54dm. It is 30 feet up using a halo and puts out 20 watts. Modes of interest: digital ISCAT, FSK-441, JT65B for 2m EME. CW-SSB often. DXCC on HF. VUCC on 50-144-222-432. No longer on 222 and 432. Getting close to FFMA on 6m. Need about 30 more grids of the 488 grids in the CONUS. W5YI-CVE with several team members. We give out exams every 3-4 months or on demand. Two other hams in family. My son Brian is WB9E and his son Jacob, my grandson is KC9TVG.
