Biography

My wife Jennifer had her general class license 5 years before I got my novice license. I was teaching an MBA course at a Houston university when one of my students had a belt buckle W0VT. After class we chatted and when he found out that my wife had a ham license and I did not, he worked all semester to talk me into getting my license. I asked him why I would want to talk to someone half a world away that I would not even walk across the street to talk to him. He worked on me all semester and by the end I did have my Novice license.

I really enjoy ham radio and am very glad that I got my license. Thanks, Lee W0VT.

I also am licensed to use military frequencies as a Lt.Col. in the Civil Air Patrol.
