Biography

Wyoming native. BSEE University of Wyoming '62. Five years as a Navigator in the flying Navy, mostly in C130s, flying mostly in the Pacific with short forays to New Zealand to support Deep Freeze in the Antarctic. Three years as a navigator with World and TIA charter airlines until the electronic equipment could do a better job than I could. Ten years in business in California convinced me that Wyoming was the place to be. Started Rocky Mountain Instrument (www.rkymtn.com) which I finally closed in 2010 and remain retired. Took the tech and general at the same time and received KG7GES on 10/28/13. Immediately applied for W7FSR vanity call. Passed and received extra ticket on 1/28/14. Immediately applied for and received new vanity call of W7MOW. I promise I won't change it again unless a good four-call drops into my lap.

As an old-timer that is a novice to the ham world, I'm not into awards and/or contests but do like to DX for fun and rag chew. I have really enjoyed learning a bunch from those of you that have shared your experience on equipment and procedures.
