i! Thanks for viewing my listing. I've been operating since 1960. My original QTH was Canyon / Amarillo, TX area.
I helped start a ham radio club in junior and senior high school. For many years I was a member of the Panhandle Amateur Radio Club. Amateur Radio is in my blood forever!
Some of my interests in the hobby include; HF operation, DXing (phone, CW, and some digital modes), radio clubs, hamfests, and VHF/UHF for communication with my local ham buddies. On the technical side, I enjoy antenna construction and design and eSSB.
Operating Conditions: HF, Kenwood 870S with all mods, Ten-Tec Pegasus, Ten-tec 238, ICOM 7300, IC706 MKII, Alpha 76PA Amplifier (3 holer) , antennas include Hexagonal Beam 20M, 17M, 15M, 10M, Vertical dipole for 40 & 75 Meters (modified Vogayer), Inverted Vs, and KD6FWD Cactus J Pole for 2 meters and 70 centimeters designed and contructed by late great friend, Tim Lewis, KD6FWD, SK.
Professionally, I was involved in commercial broadcast radio from age 14 to 28; received the First Class Radio Telephone license at age 14. I worked in the engineering side of the business and as an on- air personality. My formal education and career was in the health care field where as a doctor I practiced multiple disciplines of health care. I currently own and operate a small book publishing business as a retirement avocation..hi hi. I am enjoying retirement, my five beautiful grandchildren and family, and ham radio!
