Biography
QTH 35 miles N. of Philadelphia, FN20jk, Bucks County. 2022 is 56 years in Ham Radio.
First call: Novice WN3FTO Pennsylvania (1966) and Ft. Gordon, GA (1967) Army Signal Corp 25C training. Knight T60 and Star Roamer with 80m dipole fed directly with 300-ohm TV twinlead. Shack/living quarters was an 18' x 52' tent.
Other calls: Got WA3JUF (Conditional Class) and HL9KK in Kwangju, Korea (1968). At that time, Art Harris, HL9KA (SK) gave me the exam. Worked 20m CW with a homebrew 2-el bamboo quad. Operating as a DX station was a lot of fun. W3KM since 1996.
I work all HF bands with a TS-590S and OCF dipole and 6m with a 3el beam. 6-2-222-432-1296 in VHF/UHF contests.
WSJT QSOs:
When you receive or send RRR, RR73 or 73, log the QSO, just like SSB or CW. In contests, if you receive R as part of the exchange, log the QSO. Many stations will not complete the sequence after they get a RR73. Allow the sequence to finish, I will do the same.
I am a member of the Mt. Airy VHF Radio Club aka The Pack Rats since 1973.
