Biography
Greetings! Stan Gibilisco here, proprietor and operator of ham radio station W1GV.
I got my first ham license, the old Novice Class, in 1966 as WN0OKV in Minnesota. A year later I upgraded to General Class and took the moniker WA0OKV. In 1973 I upgraded to Extra Class.
In 1977 I moved to Connecticut and worked at W1AW, the official station of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL). I got the call sign W1GV at that time. I also served for a short while as an Editorial Assistant for QST, the ARRL's magazine for radio hams.
In 1979 I moved to Miami, Florida, spending most of the next two decades there. I've lived since then in California, Hawaii, Nevada, Wisconsin, and then, in 2004, settled into my current abode in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Equipment
Icom IC-746 PRO (fixed), Yaesu FT-857D (mobile), multiple computers, RigBlaster Pro, 22-foot deck-mounted vertical. I prefer CW and PSK31 using 7 to 10 watts, mostly on 20, 17, 15, 12, and 10 meters.
