Biography

I'm an Aircraft Mechanic (A&P - by trade - haven't been doing that for about 10 years). Been INTERESTED in Amateur Radio since the early 1970s while in High School. My original Elmer was my Science teacher and he held the call that I currently have in his honor - he's still alive and had changed his call to W1XX in Rhode Island.
I'm working on my Extra Class at the moment; the last time I took the test, the examiner said that my answer sheet "looked like it had the Measles" (HI HI).

Currently working at a local company that relocated here from UT that makes prosthetic feet from carbon fiber. I had previously worked for 9 (almost 10) years for a local electronics manufacturer as an assembler.

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

1. Icom IC-706MKIIG
2. Cushcraft R9 vertical at 65 feet agl; Comet GP-15 6m/VHF/UHF vertical
3. MFJ-949E Versa Tuner II
4. SignaLink USB (for digital modes)
5. J-38 style straight key (still re-learning CW)
6. Baofeng UV-5RV2+ HT (with Nagoya antenna, extended battery and external mic)
7. Kenwood TM-D700 dual band in the truck (Suburban)
8. Swan 350 that I'm in the process of restoring (but I don't have a power supply for, so I don't know if it works or not), so I'm trying to sell it
9. Heil Proset headset/mic
10.Swan 1011 10m/11m transceiver/receiver (on 11m only) that I'm also attempting to sell - it DOES work

DX Code Of Conduct

dx code of conduct small logoI support the "DX Code Of Conduct" to help to work with each other and not each against the others on the bands.
