Biography

I've been radio active since the 1960's when CB only had 23 channels and required a license to operate (which I had obtained). I lost interest in CB about the time it went to 40 channels. In 2013 I realized that Morse code was no longer a license requirement. I had wanted to become a ham radio operator in my teens but ADHD made it impossible for me to put together a string of dots and dashes to form a letter.

With that behind me almost all of my activity is on local VHF/UHF repeaters since I live in an apartment not suitable for an outdoor HF antenna. None of the indoor antennas I've purchased work at all. I'm using a dual band ladder line J-Pole hanging in a window for VHF/UHF and it works well.

I'm a lurker. I don't say much unless I'm helping out at a volunteer event providing communications.
