Biography

I first got licensed here on Prince Edward Island in 1965. Shortly after I joined the R.C.A.F as a electronic tech and traveled all across the country holding many call signs.  Finally after retirement decided to move back to PEI where it all started to spend my final few years being with family. I operate a small station here on the East end of the Island (Souris).
I run a Yaesu FTdx1200 into a MFG 15-40 Super Loop Antenna a FT 1900 for 2 meters and I monitor APRS. I have VHF/UHF in my mobile and hope to have HF sometime in the near future.
I try to work all bands and all modes when propagation is feasible. And as every one knows, conditions have not been favorable these past few years as we are getting to the bottom of the Solar cycle. Right now I'm favoring the digital modes for they seem to work the best through these tough conditions. I'm now doing FT8 witch seems to be the most popular along with JT65 and JT9.
