Biography

Received ham licence in 1972 with call sign VU2JUZ. Passed grade I in 1973 with call sign vu2jau. Having awards like W.A.C ,Asian DX contest Award , W R I .Have participiated in Himalayan car rallies since 1979 till 1987. Also taken active part in the MORVI DAM DISASTER IN 1979 , assisted as relay station in Gujrat Earthquack . He was in Tanzania for 3 years from 1981-1984 and operated as 5H3SB . Have started NAMASTE NETwhere most of the hams checked in. At present President of Amateur Radio Club Gwalior and running HAM classes and doing Demonstrations and activities like jamboori etc.,in different schools. He is in the Governing Council of ARSI. Jayu is also associated with Lions Club International since 1982 and is a Past President of Lions Club of Gwalior.By profession is a Chemist in Ediable Oil Refinery and Vanaspathi Plants since 30 years.Also fond of Music Sports like Cricket , Dramas and Photography as well. He was chairman for 2 years of Computer Society of India Gwalior Chapter.At present he is working as Management Representative for an Export oriented unit producing leather footwears.Also working as Deputy Director of I.E.T.E. Academy Centre Gwalior sub centre. Awarded with Rajive Gandhi Ekta Samman in August 2010.He has been appointed as National coordinator for disaster communication in India, Region III.
Provided emergency communication at SHANICHARA Temple for Shanichara Mela to avoid stampad due heavy rush. Have provided necessory communication to cover shadow areas during recent election.

Equipment

Earlier used Home brewed CW/AM Transmitter coupled with Dipole antenna.
Later used Phasing type mono (20) bander Transmitter and HRO-MX Receiver with Dipole antenna.
Since 1983 using ATLAS 210 X Transceiver using Dipole antenna for 40,20,15 and 10 meter bands. Have separate 2 el. Yagi for 20 mtr.
Recently using Kenwood TKM 707 HF Marine Transceiver along with VHF base as Yaesu FT 1900 tcvr coupled with 5/8 antenna.
