Biography

First licenced in 1983, I received a limited certificate of proficiency under the call of VK3YCH, then in 2000, I passed my Morse code exam and received my current advanced call sign VK6JJJ.

Previous callsigns: VK3YHC, VK6TVM, VK0JJJ, HL5/VK6JJJ, VK6JJJ / MM

I am active on all bands above 80 meters (including satellites) and all modes.

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

Amateur radio station VK6JJJ in Perth consists of a FlexRadio Flex 5000A (SDR) transceiver, FlexRadio Power Genious XL linear amplifier, FlexRadio Tuner Genious XL automatic antenna tuner, Heil PR-781 microphone (rag chew), David Clark H10-13.4 headset and a Magnetic loop antenna. (Ciro Mazzoni I3VHF - Baby Loop)

For 10m, as well as the loop, I also use a 5/8th wave vertical.

For 6m I use a 4 element yagi antenna and 400 watts.

Satellite station: M2 LEO pack, Yaesu G-5400B with custom Arduino controller, SatPC32, Flex-5000A SDR full duplex & automatic doppler, Antennas-Amplifiers 2m & 70cm BPF, Mini-kits 2m & 70cm pre-amplifiers.
