Biography
Where ever you may be on planet earth, welcome to this QRZCQ page.
Ham Radio has been a great companion for me all these years and I remember well the excitement I felt as a boy tuning into Hams on my short wave radio and listening to them 'til the wee hours of the morning. The years have rolled on but the excitement remains. My name is Rob and I was licensed in 1970 when I was 19. My age is now 66. My radio station is located on 450 acres of arid 'mallee' country in the South Australian Bush. We use this as our Getaway QTH and it's located about 150 kilometres from where we live in Adelaide, the capital city of VK5. Being fairly isolated, we're using solar power. The nearest town is about ten kilometres from here. At times I operate the station remotely from the home Qth, 150 klms away. Please feel free to have a look at my website which shows this location and the solar powered and remotely controlled Ham Radio station.
