Hi fellow Hams, my name is Ron Qth.....ADELAIDE IN STH AUSTRALIA My age is 69 years old, retired in 2001 ex Tv tech self employed for 32 years now enjoying Ham radio, now have the time to play, Been a Ham since 1979.I am active in bpsk31 and SSTV.Started using psk back in 1998 and loved it ever since.. i enjoy SSTV as well is a real challenge to get a picture from one side of the world to the other on 100 watts. The problem is on 20mts so many operators, we need to expand the frequency 14.230mhz is not enough for every one to operate on ALL at the same time.
My other hobbies are fishing, making power(electricity) with wind and solar, caravaning from place to place over Sth Australia, relaxing and fishing.
I very much enjoy Ham radio, i love building new antenna's making my own designs, all my antenna's at my station are all homebrew,over the years i have built alot of gear to suit my hobby, interfaces, auto cq caller, test equipment etc.
My best achievement with antenna's is my circular quad 5 elements all round made with 6mm solid aluminium rod, the boom is 25mm.I made it for the 2 mt band because of the gain and it works very well.

for HF....FT-990 RUNNING 50 WATTS ON PSK AND THE MAX ON SSTV.
ANTENNA'S..... FOR HF DUAL BAND YAGI 3 ELEMENTS ON 15 AND 3 elements on 20MTS, for 2mts 5 element circular quad...for 70 cmts, 12 element yagi.... for 6 mts, vertical ringo mounter on top of tower. Dipoles for 10-15-20-40 mts up 15 feet streched accross my back yard.
INTERFACE..... is hombrew decoupled with transformers.
ROTATOR ......is Ematator 501cxx
Other Radio's FT-897d... FT-301... KENWOOD 120V... OTHER RADIOS TOO MANY TO MENSION.
AT-200 TUNER USE TO READ POWER OUT PUT, SWR ETC. POWER SUPPLIES ARE ALL HOME BREW . THE CPU IS PENTIUM 4 1T HDD 2GIG RAM HOME BUILT..
