Biography

Doug VK4KET is a Qualified Chemical Engineer, Chemist and Geologist with considerable specialist experience in the Heavy industrial and mining sectors. including design, construction, commissioning and operations of plants. Doug has been involved in diesel and petroleum storage, LPG delivery systems for gold mines, gas conversions for Reduction furnaces (coal seam gas), gas and fuel burner exchange in ore driers, and distillation column commissioning. He also has spent time in commissioning plants with flammable solvents for solvent extraction(Jet Fuel) and gasses such as Hydrogen sulphide. Doug has worked for engineering companies such as Kvaerner, Bateman, Simon Carves, Thiess, and operating mining companies BHP, Aberfoyle, Newcrest, Aditya Birla, and Hebei Hua Ao. He is a Registered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia.

Doug has also worked in water and sewerage with the Public Works Department, and environment protection with the NSW State Pollution Control Commission.
