| Biography Hi , Thanks for visiting my page. Became an Advanced operator last year 8/9/2016, big thank to my local radio club for all there help and support. Radio first interested me when I was around 15, I was given a AM radio set, hooked up to a 12v battery and a gutter mount whip antenna, set up on the lounge room floor, I remember my first DX contact to VK7 land and I managed to exchange addresses and received my first qsl card, couldn't believe what had just happened and became hooked. My mum help me get my first SSB set and 5/8 ground wave antenna with radials, by picking grapes @ 75 cents per bucket, it was hard work but worth it. I was up all night, going to school tired, joined our local radio club and started to win there DX completions. I was in radio heaven, we ended up moving and I started chasing girls instead of DX, it wasn't until last year through my work, one of my clients VK2BA ( silent key ) introduced me to his radio room, it was amazing, Dave was into making all his own home brew equipment, very smart and technical, Dave past his Dad's call sign on to me and Jenny his wife took Dave's call sign. Dave would be happy to hear me on the radio, thanks for your inspiration. RIP smiley Equipment Icom 7600 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
