Biography

Thanks for dropping by, Please, Say G'Day by leaving a comment below.. I will Reciprocate the Gesture Best 73.

IF YOU HAVE A QSO WITH ME, COULD I ASK THAT, YOU PLEASE CONFIRM IT OR ADD TO YOUR LOGBOOK (It will be most helpful in obtaining my DXCC count and many other HAM awards being accepted) Many THNX.

Now lets get some important Net Information out of the way.

I am a regular on the following DX Nets
ANZA DX Net (Australia, New Zealand & Africa DX Net)
20m Net: 14.183 MHz, 0500 UTC, Daily
15m Net: 21.205 Mhz, 0400 UTC, Saturday

PLEASE >> FIRST LISTEN on FREQ if we are busy with DX, PLEASE DO NOT TUNE or MAKE QRM ON THE QSO FREQUENCY..Thank You !!!

At present I only do Phone SSB, I wish to learn CW, but at present I don't have the time etc. Maybe in the near future I will get there.

I most certainly don't do FT-8, as I don't consider it to be DX.

Important QSL Information

NO QSL CREATOR, NO QSL WORLD

NO QSL JUNK MAIL.

QSL ONLY

DIRECT, BUREAU, LOTW, QRZ.

I don't require a confirmation on eQSL, as I am only on there so you may collect a eQSL, if thats your thing. But if you do send a confirmation thru, many thnx. I am not on any of the other electronic QSL platforms, so if you send a request through those, please don’t worry if you don’t hear back — it’s nothing personal.

I really enjoy the real QSL cards — the ones you can hold, pin up, flip through, and proudly show off in the shack. They’re a huge part of what makes this hobby fun for me. Because of that, I QSL Direct or via the Bureau, and I also confirm contacts on LoTW and QRZ for anyone who prefers the digital side of things.

If you need my card for an award, just send yours along with a self‑addressed envelope (SAE), or email me with the address you’d like me to post it to. I’ll pop my card back to you in your envelope (or in mine if you prefer — just let me know). I’m happy to cover the return postage as a courtesy.

Whether you want it direct or via the bureau, I’m always glad to send my QSL card your way. Sharing cards is one of the best parts of the hobby, and I’m always excited to add another one to the collection.

I obtained my Novice Licence & Callsign VK2HSV back in 2003. I still have the Callsign VK2HSV by the way & I occasionally get on the air using that one. I also use it when I come across a special event station.

It went from that in 2003 to VK2STG in 2005, Then to VK2MW in 2017. I was fortunate enough to be bequeathed in 2017.

To add to the story, I became a WIA asessor for our Club HADARC also, & along with VK2ZPT Now VK2FH & Terry Ryland VK2UX (SK) helped a lot of guy's n gals obtain their Foundation Licence & among them was my good friends Les Kiss (SK)who had VK2FLES then he upgraded to VK2LES & Lee Barbour (SK) who had VK2FATS.

After a Hiatus, a Divorce & Living in a unit in Homebush West. Moved to Good Ole Quakers Hill, in the Western Part of Sydney in 2015. This was the set-up back then, but found time getting on the bands difficult, as the swear word (Work) Interrupted with it, so mainly had a mobile station in the 4WD.

Also lost a real Good Mate Les Kiss VK2LES in 2010.

Lost a Another Friend Ian Paterson in 2017 who was VK2MW. I was lucky enough to be bequeathed the Callsign on his passing.

2021 Lost a Really Great Person/Mentor/Friend John Bishop VK2ZOI / VK2BK who became a SK.

Now it's 2024 & Lost another real Great Mate Lee Barbour VK2FATS in 2023.

I decided to get the shack back on the air, as I was only running a mobile station from my Toyota FJ Cruiser. So start with this is the current station.

Whenever I get the chance you can find me on the 10,15,20,40 Bands at the QTH, Whilst Mobile you can find me on mainly 20m.
