Biography

Hi all,

My name is Richard, I am married to my wonderful loving wife Lynne and we have two beautiful daughters, Samantha and Brianna.

I have been involved in radio since 1978 and I am proud to say I have now obtained my Amateur Radio Licence as of the 25th day of July 2006. I obtained my Amateur Operator's Certificate of Proficiency (Advanced) the old full call under the call sign VK2KRM.

On 16thApril 2009, I decided to obtained a two letter call and can now be heard as VK2BD. This is particularly a special call for me as it was chosen by my wife and little girl, who have their own meaning to the letters BD which in their eyes mean Brianna's Daddy and I am happy to say that my little girl loves coming down to the radio shack with me and playing around with the radios. I have also been able to convince and teach my wife to go for a licence, which she passed in May 2012 becoming VK2FLMM.

I am also involved with a few radio clubs and take great joy in doing contesting, either under a club call or my own call.

I am an active member of VK2AWA Contest Group Inc.

I am a active member of VK1CC

I am a active member of Fishers Ghost Amateur Radio Club.

I am a active member Wireless Institute of Australia.
