Biography

I was a founding member and Director of the Vancouver Emergency Community Telecommunications Organization (VECTOR), and a past local Emergency Coordinator (EC) for Radio Amateurs of Canada for the City of Vancouver. I have also served as the Regional Amateur Radio Representative and the local Municipal Amateur Coordinator (MAC) for the British Columbia Provincial Emergency Program.

In 1998 we successfully integrated an 8-position Amateur Radio room into the new E-Comm building, which provides emergency communications and 9-1-1 service for the Greater Vancouver Regional District, and also houses the City of Vancouver EOC and the Regional Emergency Coordination Centre (www.ecomm.bc.ca).

I enjoy all aspects of Amateur Radio but I am especially interested in emergency communications and contesting - see http://tinyurl.com/ve7ti-hamstrung

I also hold callsign VE7VPU for digital modes and I sponsor callsign VA7EOC, for the City of Vancouver Emergency Operations Centre. I have a previous callsign - VA7VP.

I am currently active with the emergency program amateur radio group (SEPAR) in my home municipality of Surrey, BC. Please visit our web page at: www.separs.net and with the Surrey Amateur Radio Club www.ve7sar.net
