| Biography I was exposed to the Amateur Radio World by my uncle VE4BY circa 1946 as a young lad. Really did not take interest until I joined the RCAF Reserve in Winnipeg MB in 1954. Although I was interested in Communications, the RCAF decided to train me as a Radar Technician. I retired from the RCAF in 1978. Subsequently I had a very productive career in DEC, Compaq and HP. Retired from HP in 2002.
Fast forward to 2015. After retiring from HP and working as a volunteer at the Secrets of Radar Museum in London Ontario, I was exposed to the oldest Amateur radio club in Canada soon celebrating its 100th anniversary (VE3LON www.LARC.ca ) which is collocated with the museum at 427 Wing. The rest is history, I took the license training the Club offered and passed my License exam 2015.
I recently acquired an ICOM IC-7300 SDR.
Operating on a stealth long wire in my condo complex with 40 ft vertical compoent and about 63 ft Hrizontal. Radials run east and west aboy 63 feet each
Ocassionally I’ll be on my portable 40 ft antenna pole from who knows where.
Looking forward to meeting you on the either.
