Biography
I was originally licensed in my teens as VE3EZM in 1962 while living in Toronto, Canada. I was very active in all aspects of ham radio including using all homebrew equipment for many years. I further enjoyed playing around with antennas of all sorts. I was a member of the Nortown Amateur Radio Club in Toronto and served on the executive for many years.
Most of my activity was on CW and my favorite part of the hobby was homebrewing and DX-ing and attained DXCC on all the HF bands (except 160).
I took an extended (6 month) DX-pedition trip as VE3EZM from September 1974 to March 1975 and operated as KX6ZZ (Marshall Islands), VE3EZM/C21 (Nauru), VR4AZ (Solomon Islands), 3D2DD (Fiji), VK2BZM, VK2BZM/VK9,(Norfolk Island), ZL1BCG (New Zealand) and ZK1DD (Cook Islands).
In December 1976 I emigrated to New Zealand where I used my ZL1BCG call for 12 more years.
During those years I went on two separate DX-peditions, one in 1979 as A35DD (Tonga), 5W1CR (Samoa) and ZK2DD (Niue). The next year I operated as FW0DD on Wallis Island.
In August 1988 I moved back to Canada and I got my present call VE3EAN and live in Waterloo, Ontario.
