| Biography Greetings from Georgetown Ontario, a small town located approximately 40 KM (25 miles) west and north of the city of Toronto at an elevation of approximately 800 ft above sea level in the beautiful Halton Hills. I have been interested in radio since I was a young lad listening to shortwave broadcasts and ham radio operators from faraway places. I have been active in the hobby for many years. You will find me competing in contests, chasing DX and occasionally ragchewing in the evenings after dinner. I like to experiment with various digital modes however CW remains my favourite. I operate a modest station. My radios are a battery powered Yaesu FT-897D feeding in to an LDG AT-200 auto tuner. The HF antenna is an "inverted V" the VHF/UHF antenna is a CX333 at 50ft. covering 2m, 1.25m & 70cm. I enjoy the hobby, the wonderful PEOPLE you meet and the long time close friendships that happen as a result of our common interest in Amateur Radio. Some of my best friends are amateur radio operators. I am an active member in the Peel Amateur Radio Club and my other hobbies include flight, photography, fast motorcycles, hiking & camping. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
