Hi.been a ham since 1977.previous callsign was VE2GDP.around 1990, call was changed to VE2KY (VX9GIN on 60m)

Rigs: started with EICO-753, then Drake T4C/R4C, then Yaesu FT-ONE and recently Yaesu FT-847

Power: running 100 watts (Phone) or 30 watts (digital modes)

Digital modes: Microham USB-3 interface, Kantronics KAM TNC and DSP599zx Rx audio filter

Antenna: (see pictures on my qrz.com)

A/ Butternut HF-6 vertical with 160m, 17m, 12m and 6m kits, ground mounted (32 radials)

B/ HF multiband dipole 40 feet high (more precisely a home made 3 elements horizontal V, with elements separated 120 degrees, converging to the center and feed through a home made triple open wire feed line, a remote switch to select 2 elements out of 3 for directivity and a remote antenna tuner).

C/ 20 meters, home made 2 element moxon 35 feet height

D/ 6 meters, home made 2 element moxon beam 40 feet heigh.

E/ 2 meter & 70 CM, Diamond X500



Digital modes:

I recently went back to digital modes (PSK-31, RTTY, AMTOR, etc) adding a Microham USB-3 interface to the equipment.

I am now also on D-STAR network (VHF/UHF).



Incoming projects:

add up some other wire antenna on HF (dipoles and verticals) and soon satellite antennas (VHF/UHF).

I like to simulate wire antenna models on cumputer prior to build.

.getting interested in small Magnetic Loops.



Prefered modes:

mostly working DX on 40-30-20-17-15-12-10 and 6 meters.(SSB, CW and digital modes)

.casual SSB on 60 meters (new to me.hi)
