Biography

First licensed in 1963 as OZ5EU. Became VE0MDL and VE7MDL in 1992, and VA7QI in 2016 when I moved to Quadra Island.

Active mainly on HF using digital modes, SSB and sometimes CW.

Member of ARRL, RAC & RSGB as well the the Campbell River Amateur Radio Society.

**NOTE**: For those that appear to be geographically challenged:

When I call CQ EU, CQ SA, CQ DX or CQ OC I DO NOT mean North America and I do NOT reply to US or Canadian stations. Please refrain from creating QRM on top of the weak stations I am trying to hear. Thank you.

Also, DO NOT CALL ME ON MY FREQUENCY on FT8 and FT4. Check "Hold Tx Freq", select a CLEAR frequency and then call. I frequently change timing, so if you call me on my frequency we may collide. For this reason I prioritize stations that call me on a different frequency.
