Biography

I'm a 20 year Canadian Forces Medical Services Veteran but still working full time in Medical Technology. I enjoy Amateur Radio but have many other interests including Radio Controlled Helicopters. I'm also musically active with guitars and keys in a classic rock cover band called "CATALYST".
Very busy guy..., if it's not work, it's the Band, Amateur Radio, the Heli, and then there's my womderful wife Mary, my sons, grandson and granddaugther..... along with the house, cars, lawn, snow.... and I'm suppose to slow down... yea right...lol.
French Acadian born in Rogersville, New Brunswick. Have done many things ie... Lumber Industry, Computer Science, Commercial Photography and a 20 year Military Career with the Canadian Forces Medical Services. Licensed Amateur Radio Operator since Septembre 2009. I like to keep busy and challenged. Love my family. After three years with the Ottawa Hospital, I'm presently working full time doing Medical Ultrasound at the Arnprior District & Memorial Hospital.

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

HF Rig - Kenwood TS-950SD and SP-950 with a R0DE PROCASTER microphone into some W2IHY gear driving a Yaesu FL-2100B amplifier.

An Intel Quad Core System running HRD & PowerSDR/IF Stage with an LP-PAN adds a Bandscope and Hi-Fi Audio to my TS-950SD.

A Palstar PM2000A power meter/swr bridge and Palstar AT1KM tuner help keep things legal and resonant.

Ham Radio Deluxe Version 6.2.8 is also used for CAT and Logging - the station is controllable via the Internet.

VHF Rig - Icom IC-2200H into a Comet GP-3 at 50 feet on top of the EXP-14 as shown below.

W2IHY 8band EQ with EQ Plus as well as the R0DE Procaster is shown. Uniden Bearcat BCD996T Digital scanner is on most of the time as well.

The 4 element quad band topped with a Comet GP-3 VHF/UHF omni were safely installed on a beautiful early November morning in 2009.

Hy-Gain Explorer-14 with 40 Meter add-on kit about 50 feet up. A CDE Ham III Rotator keeps things moving.

Luckily as the driven element is 42' long, the neighbors are more intrigued by this monster than upset.
