Biography

Hello there,

I got into the amateur radio hobby during the depths of COVID, easing into the hobby with shortwave listening & scanning with SDR receivers. After some time, I knew the hobby and everything radio-related was right up my alley. So, I eventually booked my course, passed the exam, and obtained my Basic with Honours license in February of 2021. Just shy of 2 years after that, I upgraded to my Advanced license in December of 2022. Even though I've only been in the hobby for a relatively short amount of time, I'm having a blast and loving every second of it thus far!

Within the amateur radio hobby, and radio in general, I'm interested in topics such as shortwave listening, scanning, chasing DX, Parks On The Air (POTA), solar/off-grid/emergency power and systems, personal preparedness, helping/teaching others, and simply learning new and interesting things!

Outside of the amateur radio hobby, I enjoy a healthy mix of both technical and outdoor/physical hobbies; 
hiking, backpacking, camping, hunting, fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, physical fitness, --- computers, technology, gaming, philosophy, audiobooks & podcasts, photography & video creation, are some of the things I enjoy dabbling in.
