Biography

Wireless telecom engineer and college prof with primary amateur interests that include antenna experimentation, remote operation, DX and DXpeditions. Also private float-plane pilot and international traveler. I recently participated in the July 2014 VC1S activation of Bon Portage Island (NA126). I have operated on 4 other DXpeditions, including 2 activations of St-Paul Island (CY9CWI). My station is located in a log cabin on the shores of Lake Temiskaming (see below). When I'm not there, I remote-control the station from Montreal

- 10 to 20m bands: Cushcraft 7-element LPA/Yagi at 24m (80') above the lake.
- 40 to 160m bands: 80m ladder-fed horizontal loop at 21m (70 ft) above the lake.
- Backup/Diversity: 80m ladder-fed vertical loop
- Low-Noise Receive: SAL-20 Shared-Apex Loop wide-band Rx antenna.
