Biography

Hi, I'm Goksin Y. Kivanc

I was born in Samsun in 1964. In the military, I studied at the radio communication school in Mamak, Ankara. Later, I completed this duty in the 1st Army Combat Barracks in Istanbul. Electronics, Radio Communication and Radio Broadcasting is my biggest passion. Between 1975 and 1980 I became interested in SWL radio. After 1980, I made QRP shortwave and FM radio transmitters as a hobby. I can't forget those years, I had a lot of fun and good memories. I bought my first CB radio in 1985. I joined the Alfa Tango Group in Asti, Italy and worked in the 11m band with my call sign, 116 AT 135. I worked in bands for several years with my first HF radio Atlas-215X and a multiband dipole antenna. Then I bought Kenwood TS-130S and it took its place in the corner of my shack. I got my Class A license in 1992 and have worked with my TA6B call sign ever since. My profession Computer software, hardware and web design. I worked in Samsun Governorship Computer Department for many years and retired in 2011.

I also enjoy participating in contests. You hear me more in digital modes in recent years. I usually try to be active in all HF, VHF and UHF bands. I especially like communication in FT8 - FT4 - RTTY - PSK and SSB modes. I don't like to use amplifiers and only have a maximum power of 100 Watts. I think there is no need for high power in digital modes. Please do not hesitate to call if my signals reaches your QTH. So, best wishes to you and your family. Thank you also for visiting my page. Good luck and Good DX's 73!

* TA6B is my first and only call sign since 1992.
* Also I'm founder members of TRAC Samsun Branch.
