Biography

Born in Ano Archanes and spent my first 24 years in Crete. Next 10 years were spent in the US doing my Medical education and working in the field of Ophthalmology until 2005.
Back to the SV land since 2005. My QTH shifting between Crete (5%) Athens (80%) and the A61 land (15%) of the time. So far I have not tried to "activate" the A61 location, but while in the other two I am active.
Got interested in ham radio after reading a Mickey Mouse cartoon magazine probably at the age of 7 ! First license in Greece in 1996 (SV9DRU) and 2nd in the US (KI4GIN) in 2004.
Enjoying rag-chewing in 40 and 80m, a rare DX in the higher HF bands and most of all resurrecting and using "Boat-anchors".
After trying several modern day rigs, have come to believe in the old analog devices, and vacuum tube designs much more than the present day DSP based technology.

Equipment

Current: Drake TR-7, TR-4, Kenwood TS-940, TS515, TS515S, TS-830, TS-530, Yaesu FT-901DM (my 1st rig), FT-902DM, FT-980, Icom IC-720, Atlas 210LE.
Antenna: 30m Vertical delta loop used as multiband and 50m horizontal loop.
