Biography

Hi my name is Tsagkaris Kostas and i live in Tripoli's Arcadia.

I was first Licensed in early 2001.

This is just a short story about me and my station.

I began to work on the radiofrequencies when i acquired my first portable CB ALAN 38 in 1993. I have finished the technical lyceum as electronic and the same year, after sitting for exams took the authorization of exercise the profession of radio serviceman. In the army i took the speciality of tecnician of telecommunications, i specialised in the receiving set in the (S.E.T.H.L) .in Pyrgos Ilias. There, i made friends which intiated me into SSB. This happened in the frequencies 27MHZ. I was on air with the codename Miltos and Tripolis. I accomplished to communicate with America, Canada, Australia and South Africa.
This led me to search how i would become radio amateur. In Tripolis at the time there wasn't any examinations on acquiring such a degree. In 1997 i subscribe in Radio Amateur Associaton of Greece R.A.A.G. In 2001 the Prefecture of Arcadia announces examinations for acquiring a degree of radio amateur. I successfully passed the examinations and i took authorization of radio amateur with callsign SV3GLI.

Nowadays i work on SOTA (SUMMITS ON THE AIR ) and combine the Mountaineering with amateur radio. Also i take voluntarily part in Hellenic.A.R.E.S of R.A.A.G so as to benefit the local community.
